IGIDR invites applications from well qualified and experienced persons for the following posts
on contract basis initially for a period of one year which may be extendable thereafter.
Library Assistant: 2 Posts (on contract basis)
Qualifications, Experience etc: The applicant must have completed Masters in Library and
Information Science (M.L.I.Sc) or Equivalent with 55% and above marks.
Experience: 0 to 3 years in related areas with strong communication skills in English (Both oral
and written). Should have knowledge of data standards such as MARC and CCF, WINISIS,
MS–Windows, MS – Office, Cataloguing – AACR II and Classification – DDC, and should
have ability to develop web pages using HTML / CSS. Knowledge of Linux and PHP will be
added advantage.
General Information:
a. Age : For the above post is 28 to 30 years
b. Remuneration: A consolidated amount of Rs. 18,000/- p.m.(all inclusive). In addition, they
will also be entitled to an amount of Rs.60,000/-per annum as a performance incentive which
will be based on the performance evaluated on the basis of different criteria.
Mere fulfillment of the minimum qualifications etc. will not vest any right on a candidate for being
called for test /interview. The Institute reserves the right to short list the candidates for interview and
relax the selection criteria in exceptional cases. Second class ( Non A.C.) to and fro rail fare will be paid
to those outstation candidates called for interview, on production of ticket.
Eligible and interested candidates may submit their application (in the prescribed format)
along with attested copies of all relevant documents showing proof of age, experience
,qualification and two references, by Feb 15, 2014, to:
