The Raman Research Institute is a premier research Institute conducting studies in basic sciences including soft condensed matter, light and matter physics, theoretical physics and astronomy and astrophysics. The Institute has a modern library that combines print and electronic media with the mandate to provide knowledge across using modern day library and information technology. Active networking with related institutions to enable far reaching and cost effective access is one of several major initiatives of the library. Applications are invited for Library Assistants (two) fulfilling the following criteria

Essential requirement: Post graduate qualification in Library and information Science or Associate ship in Information Science from ISI or NISCAIR (Minimum of 60% marks or First class)
Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience in a reputed library (Apprentice training will also be considered)
Desirable requirement: Knowledge of both good ICT skills with hands on experience of Library automation and Communication skills
Age: Not more than 30 years
Emoluments –Rs. 20000 to 25000/-per month, depending upon the merit, experience and qualification, for one year. The selected candidates may be regularized as per Institute norms, depending on performance in pay band 2 (Rs.
9300 –34,800) and Grade pay Rs. 4200/-as Library Assistant –Grade I
