Vacancy of Chief Librarian at AIIMS, New Delhi

 ALL INDIA INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Ansari Nagar, New Delhi-110608.
Chief Librarian: (Pay Band-4 of Rs.37400-67000 with Grade Pay of Rs.8700)
Eligibility criteria: Officers under the Central/State/U.T. Governments/
Universities/Statutory, Autonomous Bodies or Research and Development
Organisations holding analogous posts on regular basis with at least 5/8 years of
regular service in the post in the scale of Rs.12000-16500/ Rs.10000-15200
respectively, or equivalent and possessing the following qualifications and
experience;
 Essential:
  • At least a second class Master’s Degree in Science (preferably in Biological
  • Sciences) of a recognised University or equivalent;
  • Degree or equivalent Diploma in Lib. Science of a recognised Institution or
  • University; and
  • 7 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity in a library of standing.
Desirable:
  • Master’s Degree in Library Science;
  • Training in Medical Librarianship;
  • Experience of documentation work in a responsible capacity;
  • Knowledge of Sanskrit and any modern European language other than English
  • (Period of deputation shall not ordinarily exceed 3 years)
Upper Age Limit : 56 Years
Number of Post (s) : 01(on deputation basis)

GENERAL CONDITIONS
The interested officers who fulfil the above qualifications / eligibility criteria may submit their application in the prescribed proforma at Annexure-I through proper channel to the Director, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Ansari Nagar, New Delhi-110608, so as to reach the addressee by 18-03-2013. The envelope containing the application(s) should be superscribed “Application for the Post of ____________ on Deputation basis”. While forwarding the applications, it may be ensured that the particulars of the candidates are verified and that they fulfill the eligibility conditions. Duly attested photocopies of their up to date Confidential Reports (at least for the latest 05 years) and certificates in proof of age and educational qualification may also be enclosed with the applications. It may also be clearly stated that no vigilance/disciplinary proceedings is pending or contemplated against the  candidates concerned.

Applications without vigilance clearance and CR Dossiers will not be considered. The deputation will be governed by the standard terms and conditions of deputation provided under Department of Personnel & Training’s O.M. No. 06/08/2009-Estt.(Pay II) dated 17.06.2010, as amended from time to time.
